Marloes Aerts
Illustrator from Netherlands · 2 artworks

A vivid imagination and the ability to express creativity with her own hands characterised Marloes as a young child. The struggle to step out of darkness and back into the light is a major source of inspiration for her work. She allows the emotion to emerge through material, an emotional struggle that is recognisable to so many, now captured in a painting. Work that can touch your feelings and is a literal translation of this: the battle between the negative and the positive. Work that can provide insight into your own thought patterns, bringing time to a standstill for a moment while you are lost in thought, after which you may return to the present.

Studied at Cibap, Spatial Presentation and Communication Design (2008-2012), where her passion for the use of light and dark and abstract graphic forms blossomed. Subsequently, Industrial Product Design at Saxion University of Applied Sciences (2012-2016) introduced her to the powerful effect that form and color have on human emotions.
