My name is Mayra and I live with my family in the center of the Netherlands. My unusual first name comes from Curaçao; I was born there and spent my early years. I love photography; I also call this ‘capturing beauty’. I find beauty everywhere, and certainly in nature. Enjoying and marveling at details, the play of light, the seasons... and trying to capture *that* is a delightful pastime for me. I prefer to photograph with natural and soft morning or afternoon sunlight; this gives my photos a warm, soft atmosphere. My photo editing is also aimed at a natural and warm atmosphere. My photos are also characterized by ‘tranquility’; emptiness alongside what I am capturing. This accentuates the subject and provides space to dream away. In addition to photographing in nature, I also enjoy photographing in my home daylight photo studio. It is a lovely place to take still-life photos using natural light. Other ways to express my creativity are painting and creating digital artworks.
