I’m a New Mexico-based, full-time professional artist. I create dark and moody art inspired by my travels, the books I read, my garden, and all things wild and free. I love sumptuous, velvety backgrounds, rich vibrant colors, and lots of botanicals, animals, and nature themes. You’ll find cats (both big and small), butterflies, birds, books, flowers, as well as witchy herbs, and references to long-dead authors in my work.
I specialize in traditional, timeless oil painting techniques over more contemporary mixed media such as inks, charcoal, and even spray paint. My originals are mostly painted on the finest archival rag paper, but occasionally I’ll use wood panels or stretched canvas. I also create smaller art works using a type of watercolor called gouache on paper and even luxurious silk.
I invite my collectors to step into a new realm of possibilities. My paintings can be described as abstract realism, filled with dreamy, exotic, and wild creatures.
