Ildefonso Martín was born in Madrid in 1955. He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid, specializing in Drawing, and later continued his training at the Sotomesa Studio. Since 1988, he has exhibited widely in solo and group shows across Spain, including in Madrid (Galería Catarsis, Nave del Arte, Galería Jorge Alcolea), Cáceres, Valencia, Oviedo, Santiago de Compostela, Barcelona, Marbella, Vigo, Pamplona, and Zamora. His work has also been shown internationally in Paris, Seoul, Shanghai, San Francisco, and the Netherlands. Martín has been selected for national competitions such as the Certámenes Nacionales Plásticos Ciudad de Alcorcón, Premios de Pintura Ciudad de Alcalá, Certamen de Pintura de la UNED, and the Premios Mujer y Sociedad in Madrid. His career has been recognized with awards including the Getafe City Drawing Prize and the National Drawing Prize Antonio del Rincón in Guadalajara.
