Garima Dhawan is a UK based surface pattern designer and printmaker, known for her bold, colourful botanical prints and abstracts. She starts with printmaking techniques like silkscreen, block print, cyanotype and gelli printing and then play with them in Photoshop integrating the traditional and modern.
Matisse and his bold use of colors and shapes especially the cutouts inspire her. For her collage is about breaking things apart and putting them together in a completely new way.
With an MFA in textiles, from the Rhode Island School of Design, US, Garima’s work has gained international recognition for her exploration of nature and geometry in a bold, new, modern way.
