Doris is a figurative artist and fashion illustrator, well known for her unique handwriting and her experimental human portraits. She studied at the Bauhaus Art colleges in Berlin and Braunschweig and gained a MA in Design at the Royal College of art in London. The "return to the craft" and the clash of artistic trends such as Expressionism, Dadaism, Constructivism and Art Nouveau clearly influenced her work. The Vienna Secession artists Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele also had a noticeable impact. Her fascination for drawing the human figure, dressed, semi-nude or undressed and her passion for designing fabrics, textures, impressive sculptural garments, and costumes are clearly visible.
Doris worked worldwide as illustrator on projects with prestigious fashion brands such as Max Mara, Lanvin, Nina Ricci, Martin Margiela, Burberry and the sophisticated Art Deco Hotel Waldorf Astoria in New York just recently acquired a collection of her art pieces for the reopening.
